The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Health Education & Prevention Department consists of HIV prevention and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) prevention programs. The grant-funded programs specifically target lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. In addition, the Health Education & Prevention Department fulfills community requests for presentations and court ordered HIV instruction by offering a monthly AIDS Information Meeting (AIM)a basic "HIV 101" class. Programs offered by the department include: Man2Man, a workshop program that promotes the health and well-being of gay and bisexual men; West Hollywood (WeHo) Life, an innovative prevention program for those who live, work, or operate businesses within the City of West Hollywood; and Positive Images, a primary HIV prevention program targeting people living with HIV/AIDS by means of a telephone chat line, computer chat room, and support/discussion groups.
