The L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Legal Clinic provides access to a wide-range of no- and low-cost legal services. We provide one-on-one consultations with clients whose issues fall within the attorney's areas of expertise and on occasion we provide representation and advance services. Each year, the Legal Clinic assists thousands of clients in more than twenty areas of law including: Business, Civil Rights, Consumer, Criminal, Employment, Family, Government Benefits, Immigration, Insurance, Housing, and Personal Injury. The Immigration Law Project specifically addresses the immigration law needs of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender persons. The Pro Per Project provides no- and low-cost assistance on a self-help basis to clients who need to file answers to evictions, name changes, temporary restraining orders, and more. The Lawyer Referral Service provides access to attorneys who represent clients who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or living with HIV/AIDS. The Gay & Lesbian Center's Legal Clinic requests a $10 processing fee for attorney consultation. No one will be denied services for lack of funds. Clients with legal questions that are HIV/AIDS-related and pertain to employment discrimination/harassment, government benefits, immigration, landlord-tenant matters, powers of attorney, or wills will be referred to the HIV & AIDS Legal Services Alliance (HALSA).
